Farming - a family business

Did you know that in the period from 1900 to 1915 numerous hotels and guest houses in our area developed from farms? Many farmers opened their doors or built guest houses on their farms. The von Siebenthal family is still running their farm of approx. 20 hectares adjacent to the hotel. For guests, visiting the cows in July and August is a special highlight that every guest will fondly remember. We enjoy showing our guest the barns in Saanen or Vorsass overlooking Saanenmöser.

The grandchildren, Livio, Lena and Larina, like helping their grandfather with cutting hay; and of course, Markus Sprenger and Adrian von Siebenthal (the son of Heidi and Walter) pull their weight too. Driving a tractor is a great change from the daily business of running a hotel.

Wherever possible, we seek to use our own products. Thomas Sprenger, a farmer and the cousin of Markus, supplies us with his delicious potatoes, eggs or walnuts; the latter we then refine into our tasty green walnuts, which taste so great with cheese.
