At Golfhotel Les Hauts de Gstaad & SPA, we are committed to being respectful of nature and our resources. Since 1996, we have been heating the Golfhotel Les Hauts de Gstaad & SPA with liquefied petroleum gas, which is obtained from crude oil processing at the refinery in Cressier (NE). In Saanenmöser we founded a gas network in 1996, and many of the new buildings are connected to this network. Thus the village of Saanenmöser is making a considerable contribution to reducing CO2 emissions.
By participating in the EnAW programme of the Swiss Confederation, we minimise our CO2 footprint.

We obtain 100% of our electricity from Swiss and European hydroelectric power. Already 60% of our light sources have been replaced by LED lamps, the rest will follow. To reduce electricity consumption, we have installed motion detectors wherever possible. Our employees are also trained to switch off all appliances when not in use.

In 2015, 20 hotels of the Hotelier Association Gstaad Saanenland joined forces to form a purchasing cooperative. This created a logistics hub to digitise and standardise the ordering, storage and delivery processes. Thanks to this cooperation, the hotels together were able to massively reduce unnecessary delivery trips and strengthen the local partners. The national wholesalers deliver by large truck to Sarah Schmid's family business in Saanen, and she then takes over the fine distribution in the region. This project also promotes the transfer of knowledge and the exchange between the hotels and strengthens the trade of the whole region.

We take care to avoid unnecessary packaging as early as the purchasing stage. At our breakfast buffet, we deliberately avoid portion packaging. In our kitchen, we use products from the region. The potatoes come from our own harvest in Saanen. On our wine list, we focus on wines from Switzerland.

There are two Zaptec Pro electric charging stations in our underground car park.

Our mountain bikes from Thömus are provided free of charge. The e-mountain bikes from Thömus can be rented.

In summer, the Gstaad holiday region offers a free public transport ticket as part of the Gstaad Card. In winter, public transport is included in the ski ticket.

Travelling by train is comfortable and easy. Saanenmöser train station is just a few minutes' walk from our hotel. The special luggage offer allows guests from Switzerland and guests from Germany and Austria to travel without luggage.

The active Hotelier Association Gstaad Saanenland founded the YourGstaad platform in 2008 with the aim of creating an attractive offer for employees. Within the framework of YourGstaad, the hotels offer various benefits free of charge across the board, and we tackle employee training and development together. Because we can only survive in the market if we have well-informed and trained employees.

In 2010, we built a double chalet with 16 studios and 9 flats for our employees only 4 minutes' walk from the hotel. This way we can offer our staff a pleasant living situation and there is no additional traffic.
